Here's a version that ties the text together a bit, though there's an issue with the text shape where I cut the raven out. I can't be bothered fixing it.

This also adds some depth.

I've attached a slightly corrected version of the previous one (not this post) and the "sliced" text logo in SVG format.

Edit: I just realized that Inkscape has an option to select the license. It defaults to "proprietary," so I switched it to the Creative Common's license mentioned on the previous page. I haven't uploaded corrected versions, though.

Yay, random wallpapers.

I had to place it in a .zip to circumvent phpBB's propensity to display the images directly even if you don't click "place inline." I suppose it could be changed in the settings, but that'd ruin the point of being able to add images inline!

Since it appears that the previous incantations looked too eagle/hawk/falcon like (thanks, Elade!)--and I agree, I wasn't aiming for a falcon, and the previous versions really don't look like what I was aiming for--I've broadened the beak a bit, and I'm fairly impressed with the results. Now, I can't really decide on which version. Here's 4 different variations with the last 3 capturing the S in the logo.

I like candidate 2. 3 & 4 makes the raven look like it has a mohawk thing going on, hah!

Two other variants, one minus the left wing. I'm leaning more toward the 1-dimensional version without the added depth of the wing.

Includes some increased stylistic effects on the font, a thinner more raven-like "neck," and closer communication with the logotype.

The left wing still makes me uncomfortable.
