Recruitment Form Up!

Postby Grimblast » Sun Aug 17, 2008 9:25 am

Ok, after some poking around and getting some input from our officers, I have come up with a recruitment form for our website. I'm still revising some areas of it but it's pretty complete. We can start pointing people to it for recruitment related tasks. I have listed what our guild is about and our current goal as I have understood it from everyone. Any information submitted by the form goes to a forum that only myself or our officers can see. Depending on when the form is submitted to us, I estimate it to be 1 to 3 days before we get back to the submitter since we have to go over the information and send them an in game mail if they have been accepted or not.

If anyone decides to help on recruiting, the best strategies from my experience are as follows:

A macro to spam once in awhile into the guildrecruitment channel to inform newcomers and existing players we are recruiting. You can include a quip for our site for more info.

Pugging - I know it's not very popular but if people see us in action they might want to join us. Never hurts to bring someone on several runs that is unguilded and eventually offer an invite to them or point them to our recruitment form if they want to think about it.

Helping others - You'd be surprised how far helping someone can go. If we assist others in game, they just might consider joining us.

Now I'm no expert at recruiting but these are methods that have worked for me in the past. Everyone has their own methods so feel free to try what you can. Members flagged as veterans still have the power to invite someone but make sure to inform an officer or myself if you do invite them. We have to update their notes to reflect main or alt. Also, I'm up for any questions or ideas you might have on the form or information posted here so please post it here, thanks!

In the macro, should we mention our guild partnership?

EDIT: I think you could a add a background to the form, would make it a bit more attractive, even if just a solid color.

We can't mention the SGA in recruiting due to their policy. The SGA is in no way a recruiting tool so we have to honor their policy. As for the appearance. I suppose a small tweak can be done.

I don't like to use guild alliances as a recruiting tool. I'd rather people join us for us not because of who we team or work with.

The Black Raven Dragoons (affectionately known as the 'goons) are now recruiting! We are a casual, adult guild (with adult humor) looking for like-minded players. Blah blah...

Gives you an idea where to start. I'm on the phone atm, so I can't think for crap.
I gave that lich a phylactery shard. Liches love phylactery shards.

What they don't know won't hurt them.

I already see Sno and Elade's first desperate flirtations causing a flurry of /gquits.
Letting the demon do the work for me since 2004.
I play to some degree: WoW (EU now, US before), Guild Wars 2 (EU), SWTOR.
