This sounds about right when it comes to Doom's one man army approach compared to say, Warhammer 40k.

LOL this is accurate. Almost startlingly so.
Doomguy should easily be in the top 5 heroes of gaming history. In those cases where he's overlooked, it's probably because he's unnamed and has no dialog.
Of course, the people rating these things don't realize: Marines don't need dialog when they have their fists.
