So, the other day I decided to grab E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy from Steam and I was surprised to find out the game may be by a foreign company given the different languages I heard in the game. That didn't deter me from playing the game though. The whole cyberpunk feel to the game and the way they presented it is certainly cool. The game has a complex set of controls but you can pick them up fast thanks to the in game tutorials that you can pull up on your HUD. The game does a good job of showing you how to play. I didn't like where their default 'use/pickup' key was(the enter key by default) so I changed it to something more familiar to me. They are using the same graphics engine as Half Life 2 and they did a great job constructing their game world and the appearances of the people in it.
The game plays like a FPS/RPG. As you complete certain tasks or overcome obstacles, you gain xp and can distribute stat points based on the levels you get. Your class is determined by which ever combination of stats are your dominate ones. I didn't get a chance to try the multiplayer element of the game yet but you can co-op according to Steams information. I know Sunder grabbed a copy of this game so I'll hit him up tonight and see what the multiplayer is like.
This game feels like Deus Ex but on a bigger scale. It's what Deus Ex 2 should've been like at least in concept. Of course, the latest Deus Ex will be out soon so we shall see if they got that right. Anyways, Sunder, I'll be looking for you later tonight to get some multiplayer action in for this game. It looks like it will be a blast with more than one player.
