Sinthea's House of Dark Arts and Epic Threads along with Killemal's Empourium of Dead Animals are proud to sponsor the first ever 'Let's Go Fishing' Guild Contest, where you have a chance to win a huge bag of gold.

The rules:
1) Whoever can earn the most points by catching and submitting the most Highland Guppy, Lavascale Catfish, and Fathom Eel during the week (7 days, from server reset to server reset) will be declared the winner.
2) Only fish mailed to Killemal will be may be used as credit, and only the above fish will count towards your score.
3) Scoring is as follows:
Highland Guppy - 5 points
Lavascale Catfish - 2 points
Fathom Eel - 5 points
4) In the event of a tie, the pot (1,000 gold) will be split equally among the tied players.
5) Since these fish are only fished from Cataclysm zones, they'll probably have to be fished by an 80+, though you may use any toon(s) you like, but you should always use the same toon to deposit them.
6) This contest is open only to current Black Raven Dragoons guild members and officers, except for Killemal or his alts, obviously.

The purpose of this contest is to net the guild the That's A Lot of Bait achievement, which grants access to the Seafood Magnifique Recipe. So please, don't have your friends outside of guild fish for you, and please don't run off to the auction house; you'll probably spend more than 1k gold trying to win anyway.

Scores will be updated only once in the middle of the server cycle, which should add a bit of strategery to the contest. All updates will be made in this thread.

Gnomes are the bait!

To make the scoring more of a challenge, consider 1 of each type to equal 5 points, otherwise 1 point (or lower) each. So a stack of each fish would give 100 pts. 3 stacks of a single type would give you 30 pts.

Just a thought.

Well, there are only 2 days left on the fishing contest and I'm very, very, sad to say that I've received ZERO entries. The pot-split at zero is ZERO gold, kids.

Don't look for me to run any more contests, as the majority of the feedback in-game regarding this one has been negative.

Aside from our regulars, the gnomes, and Seak, I don't think most guildies partake in the forums. Not that it matters, I'm sure you announced it repeatedly in game.

There's gotta be a way to get more people involved!

With Jar back, it's probably just as well no one else has entered the contest. Even with about 2 days remaining, he'd very likely beat them at fishing. Maybe everyone else was preemptively intimidated?

Don't feel discouraged, Killem. Contests are either rewarding or greatly disappointing. The plus side is that Jar will make up for what everyone else didn't want to do!
