Two major vulnerabilities in Linux are out, both of which might result in root access.

Fortunately, though, I don't know of anyone who actually configures RDS in the kernel, so...

Another Adobe product is vulnerable, so if you have Shockwave installed you may wish to update.

There's also a plethora of other vulnerabilities from last week, including Flash, so do some updating if you haven't already. Critical software you need to update if you have it installed is:

  • Firefox (3.6.11)
  • Opera (10.63)
  • Chrome
  • Java SDK/JDK (various versions, see link above)

If you use Adobe Shockwave, a security update has been released to address flaws in the software.

Be aware that Shockwave is not Flash; this exploit won't affect you if you don't have Shockwave installed. However, this vulnerability still remains in the wild and is as yet uncorrect.
