I've discussed this idea with Turus in detail. We're looking at giving it a try while waiting for the SGA application process to complete...

The idea comes on the heels of some minor but, in my opinion, very significant developments regarding a guild Turus and I had been a part of. We're looking at forming some alliances with a former guild mate and start a PUG channel of our own. Since RejectdsPUG and Puggers are now defunct, I have a few ideas of my own I would like to try.

Half the Calories, Twice the Goon

Here's a few points:

I envision GoonPUG to be something like a "GoonLite" chat channel with the intent of getting groups together. Guild chat is what makes the 'goons who we are, why not spread the love to those who are missing out? More importantly, we may as well create a venue through which other 'goon-like guilds can accomplish things.

GoonPUG won't be used for recruitment. Period. Puppies will die if this happens.

Depending on Turus' OK on this, we might use our TS for 'goon-lead events.

Anyone is welcome.

Loot rules will depend on the leader, though 'goon-esque rules are highly recommended and desired.

Sounds good to me and my TS server is open to anybody if you need a form of voice chat. It's why I have instance channels setup on the blasted thing
You can find the TS server information in our guild information button in game.

So /pugger up and if you know of any guilds that would like to ally with us in our pug channel, then by all means, let them know. I know during our officer meeting Vest already knew a few that he could get into the channel so we should see some start joining it over the holiday possibly.

One thing I will need to point out. We will not use the channel to power level characters. It is used to get players of like level together so they can accomplish the same task or just have fun

Exactly--excellent points. Liquidlight and a ton of others from SA (including Jinmaru and Jaecohbi's hunter alt) have already joined GoonPUG. They're going to spread the word. (LL didn't really like the name because it has "PUG" in it, but I explained that while it's technically a PUG, it's across-guilds with people you know and trust. That's the best kind of PUG.) If we can get this sucker started, we'll be golden.

Yep. I know pug is a bad word but it does describe what it is.

Exactly. Maybe we can change the associations with the word to something a bit more pleasant.
