They shouldn't be offended. Considering that no cooking show would ever demonstrate how to boil water, it's entirely feasible that the individual who attached the caption we're all giggling over has never seen the process demonstrated first hand. Furthermore, we can posit that his predisposition of watching televised cooking shows precludes him from understanding how to use search engines to assist in his culinary handicap.
The presumption of any other motives is clearly sexist, because it operates under the belief that the author is in fact male (the author could be female) and neglects to consider that there are alternative theories to explain why someone watching a popular program on the Food Network would be unable to boil water. After all, watching a culinary show is as unlikely to produce a chef highly trained in French cuisine as watching TLC is to produce a viable heart surgeon. (I would instead argue that watching TLC is more likely to prohibit viewers from ever having children given how many damn programs on that channel have bratty little sods running around, screaming at the top of their lungs with blatant disregard to the aural health of those nearby.)
