Well lateley i have begun to get bored with the heavy metal music genre. So i am currently looking for suggestions on new groups to check out. If anyone has any thing to offer please please do. Thanks!!!!

None of my suggestions are particularly hard or heavy, but if you've an open mind to "non-traditional" metal (specifically what some call "progressive metal"), I do have some suggestions. Surprisingly, this list won't include Disturbed.

Kamelot - Softer progressive metal. Inspired mostly by Christian lore from the 1400-1500s. I'd suggest the albums Epica and The Black Halo as a few of the others are a bit more difficult to obtain (their studio is in Germany).

Nightwish - Opera meets metal. It's much better than you might expect, coming from a Finnish band. I have damn near all of their albums. The lead vocalist is (rather: was) a professionally trained female singer. If you think Evanescence is good, they sound like a kiddie band in contrast. Wishmaster, Once, Oceanborn, Over the Hills and Far Away are all good albums.

Jag Panzer - Obscure group from Colorado you generally don't hear much of. A lot of their work is based off of English lore (King Arthur, etc.), though the inspiration for each album is all over the place a-la Iron Maiden. Mechanized Warfare is a good start.

Epica - A band inspired by Kamelot's album of the same name. Much along the same thread as Nightwish only with some out of place death metal-esque grumblings during some songs (IMO it ruins it). They have a few good songs, including a cover of Memory (yes, the one from Cats). It's a Dutch band with a pretty good start. Consign to Oblivion and We will take you with Us are good albums.

I'm not sure some of these would be to you liking, especially if you prefer harder metal. My musical tastes and preferences are scattered all over the place, so if nothing else, this might give you some exposure to things you may not have listened to. The worst that can happen is that you don't like it!

Well when it comes to music im kind of a whore. I am a really big fan of nightwish(especially casue she looks like a better version of catherine zeta jones ). And have heard kamelot and jag panzer before. Also if you really like Nightwish you might really like Nevermore and Iced Earth. I do appreciate the hel on my quest for new music though. To kinda get and idea on what im currently into follow this link(and yes i know it is dirty). Most of the people on there are bands so dont worry about seeing dumb people.

I apologize for suggesting music you've already accumulated. I always considered some of it to be along the fringe in contrast with the mainstream parts of the genre.

On the other hand, the non-mainstream fringe stuff is often better by leaps and bounds. They actually have to work at making their albums, rather than having everything handed to them by a major media conglomerate in exchange for their soul. (Sign here please.) I'll check it out. There's been a couple of bands I've been meaning to try but tend to forget... Stratovarious was one of the ones I was recommended, though I've heard mixed responses.

I do agree with the non-mainstream music being a whole lot better than the MTV crap. It has a more um real feel to the music like thay care about it over the green. You may also like Reverend Horton Heat if you can handle a mixture of 50's Rock and Roll and Country. Go Rockabilly w00t!!! Also i have found that i tend to like local groups far batter than anything signed. Now not local here mind but more the fact that they are, for lack of a better term Weekend Musicians, trying to make it in the industry. This is why i had such a huge blast in Phoenix. But that is for another day, and dont apologize, unless you are a mind reader(gasp!), there is no way you could have known.
