Found where MS is allowing people to try out the MSO2010 softwares. Its good 'til October of next year. Its insanely fast, so you should do it.

Finally got around to downloading it tonight. The download site doesn't work in Chrome (big surprise) and was a little buggy under Firefox. Nothing a couple refreshes wouldn't cure.
Anyway, guess I'll leave this beast on tonight and then install it tomorrow. I really have to applaud MS for beta access. One, it short circuits the torrent sites outright by offering the beta access before they can. Two, it gives us a chance to test stuff out without actually buying it. And three--well, they suckered me in with Win7. It's good to see that their leadership isn't completely brain dead.
I feel dirty thinking about this, but I daresay I'm actually starting to like Microsoft again.

I'm impressed. For a beta it's not that bad--kinda like Windows 7. It even opens ODTs (from OpenOffice) without much fuss, although I've found it doesn't handle the styling 100% correctly and the internal table of contents links don't really work except via Word's navigator. Other than that, I'm impressed. It feels a little more sluggish than older versions of Word (but faster than 2007) and the new UI looks a little more attractive. I see that Ribbon has been improved slightly and they eliminated that stupid "Office Button" at the top left (finally).
