I think his complaints are a little shallow. Right now, there really isn't such a thing as anonymity on the Interwebs. Anything you do can be traced to an IP address. The difference being that it's largely corporations in charge of your privacy. Now, before you think immediately about the evils of "Corporate America," think about why this is a good thing: Lawsuits (or at least the threat of) and a damaged reputation strike the fear of God into many of these firms, which is why they go to such lengths to protect your privacy (we have privacy statements for a reason). Grant the same power to the government and all bets are off. Let's not even consider an international governing body!
