I heard they weren't going to release it on the 4th, because it would've interfered with US elections. ;)

Wow, that's scary, it really could... you know the media would totally blame that.

I registered for my mail-in ballot today by the way. Exciting stuff!
Letting the demon do the work for me since 2004.
I play to some degree: WoW (EU now, US before), Guild Wars 2 (EU), SWTOR.

Oh, any excuse is a good one to blame and with the wild popularity of WoW, it would be possible to convince people that the effect is real. Even though young people are the least likely of all age groups to vote, I could see legal proceedings wherein the release date of a game was blamed for poor voter turnout.

I would believe it. :P Heck, in Japan It was made law to not allow the release of Dragon Quest games on weekdays because of the standstill business would take on every new entry of the series.

The unfortunate truth, Sno. Is that many of our generation (mine anyway) has never, nor ever thought of voting.

(my fiance is one of them.)

We should all just do the mail in balot and stand in line like we were all bread to do  At least they didn't release it on black friday. Imagine that madhouse at gamestop...

That's one thing I've always found rather comical. Everyone in the US has the right to complain about the elections--but they often don't vote. I don't recall the exact numbers, but I think the total voters in this country is less than half (maybe even less--like a third) of the number of people who are eligible and old enough to vote.

That's one reason why I think it's stupid for candidates to appeal to university students (or people between 18 and 30, really), because they are the least likely of all voters to vote.
