I've known of at least one or two females who play males because it "fits with the story more." I forget the name of the individual's character, but she played a male druid (because the notion of female druids seemed silly according to lore--talk about taking things a bit too seriously). Her husband, IIRC, played a male gnome. That was rather funny to watch. Although, I admit it'd be even more amusing if it were a female gnome.
As an aside, most people who have confused me with Turus usually learn otherwise rather quickly. I'm very moody, and I'm also pickier about my typing. And, well, the trolling nature of my personality tends to give me away no matter how hard I try otherwise.

And I can make that sexist and hurtful remark, since most know I'm at least as moody (and yes, my girlfriend does like to say she's the man... thank God she doesn't look it).

Hey, I'll freely admit that if I could, I'd PMS--probably worse than most women!
And FYI, I'm pretty sure I'm much more moody! We'll make this a contest. I'm sure it has something to do with my personality type.

Ahahahahaahahah. Yes, I know. I had to resort to the MBTI. It's fun to do sometimes.
To be honest though, my N preference is rather weak (to the extent of bording on an S). But, I think that's partially because I haven't quite learned to trust my intuition--which is almost always right. Either that, or I lie on tests.

No worries though, I always look at someone as they play, or non gender specific. You can usually tell who is male, and who is female (with the exception of Thal
