I miss my Sega Genesis....

...I actually burnt out two systems in the course of a year. Hardcore gamer in the making :P

"I really hope they get rid of the "Werehog" idea. Just remove all the night stages from Sonic Unleashed. Let Sonic be Sonic. Listen to the fans."

SO true. There can be, will be only one Sonic

Nothing like the oldies. I never owned a sega so I had to play it at friends places. It was a fun system but the games always seemed too easy.

Holy crap.

I admit that I've never actually played any of the early Sega games. =/

I played Sega a good amount, but it was old and taken over by the N64 by the time I got around to gaming. I did pull my first all-nighter playing Sega, though.

Aigle -- same here.

My Mario 3 time has been brought down to 45 minutes to kill Bowser. I'm still fairly proud of that.

One of my cousins claims he can do it in 30. I haven't talked to that punk since we were 11.

Mario 3 was my all-time favorite Mario Bros.

SMW was pretty close, though.

I didn't play SMW until 2 years ago. As a kid, my dad banned buying any game consoles past the original Nintendo because he felt I was addicted and didn't play outside enough.

I don't think he succeeded.... 8)

Good thing my Dad was/is a gamer, too :P He's limited to online poker now since his Diabetes took over his eyes.

My Mom certainly wasn't one though...

I still have my Sega Genesis here in my room along with my Game Gear.......to be honest I could never beat any of those Sonic Games and prob still can't....dumb reaction time is kinda slow. I used to have all the sonic games for the Genesis minus the first sonic game for that system. I used to have a Atari 2600 and NES but my dad being the idiot he was gave them both away. To tell the truth the only games I have ever beaten were the Pokemon Games for Game Boy and Knights of the Old Republic.......Kinda sad I would say for a person like me.

I miss the Sega of old. They could seemingly do no wrong in the 16 bit era. But then you had Sega of America pushing the 32X add on for the Genesis because the Sega CD was not enough. And you had Sega of Japan pushing the Sega Saturn. To think, they nearly green lit the Sega Neptune on top of it all, but thankfully killed it soon after a working prototype was made. They confused the hell out of their fans and those that got either (or both, *cough*) got burned. The left hand did not know what the right hand was doing and the body as a whole was all the poorer for it. Years later when they released the Dreamcast there were so many people still feeling burned from the add on fiasco of years previous that the system was largely ignored before falling into total obscurity. A pity. As it's my favorite system. >_> Besides the SNES anyway.

I don't care very much for the Sega of today. They ship unfinished garbage before it's finished. How Sonic 360 and Shadow The Hedgehog. (He's Sonic. But with a gun because that's what kids go for these days. Plus he's X-TREEEEEME!! *yawn*) got to be platinum titles is any ones guess. >_> But, for whatever reason Sega is richer for it. They took nothing but staggering losses when putting out Shenmue and the like, just a big shame. Speaking of which, we'll probably never even see the end of that saga. Sega and Yu Suzuki seem large finished. Sega is not in the business of finishing a potentially unprofitable game series for the sake of it's fans, those days are behind them. The price of saving Sega's life merely came at the cost of it's soul.
