Karazhan run, what is a good time?

Postby Grimblast » Tue May 15, 2007 4:55 pm

What is a good time for everyone for Karazhan? This is a data gathering post and I would like to see what your thoughts are on this.

Death had suggested a stuttered run through out the week where if you had the time we could form up what members wanted to go and try to knock out Karazhan one day at a time or at least give some you some experience of Karazhan on a day that you could go.

I prefer Friday nights and Saturday nights with a possibility of resuming the run on Sundays or Mondays.

What do yall think is a good time though? I'm pretty sure I can try and make time during the week. I know our Saturday group kicked some serious butt and I would like to keep us at it. We will get better with time and consecutive grouping with the same members :) I think once we have the whole instance down, we will burn it down faster each time.

Friday evenings and Saturdays are generally good for me, including Sundays. Otherwise, when I'm on, I'm usually AFK every 15 minutes, get auto-logged out, etc.
I gave that lich a phylactery shard. Liches love phylactery shards.

Oh yeah, and Death, make sure to post your whole idea. I only summarized what you said earlier today :) Better if it comes from the original source hehe.

last Saturday was great, but we ended up spending 5-6 hours or so online I think and it's a pretty big chunk of my weekend to give away every week. Probably a better time for regular runs is Sunday afternoon... but I play a lot on Friday / Saturday too so having it on those days sometimes is good as well.

I'd rather we knock out as much as we can in one shot, getting a group together here or there doesn't seem like it will work too much until we get more people keyed, and I'm not sure how part of the raid being saved to the instance and not others works. I'm all for getting more people in there, though, and until we have enough people for two full groups we'll have to do it by running it in bits and pieces with different group makeups.

Oh, and if we decide to do Kara on Saturday again this weekend then we need to make it an MDC pizzabeer-in :D

I would suggest to get started on Friday night get the first boss. Then turn arround and hit it again on Saturday, a little earlier though. When we get started later, I seem to get tired just when the goodstuff is happening. Just a thought. I WILL TRY TO PLAY WHENEVER IS MOST CONVIENIENT FOR THE MAJORITY.

I would also like for us to think about getting more keyed to do heroic. I had a lot of fun in the 10 man, but I still love the 5 man.

Time isnt really an issue for me, but real life unfortuneately is. I just like to go out to often so with me it may be that i alternate the times we do runs and may wind up having to forfeit my spot on alot of the runs. Anyway time isnt an issue i have an alarm clock soo. . .

I'd like to second the sentiment of getting heroic keys... I'm running as many instances as I can so I can do it, but I'm still a good 5k+ off of revered on pretty much every faction. Is running instances repeatedly really the only way to progress a lot there?

Yep. You stop getting rep from outside an instance once you hit honored with a faction. It kind of sucks :(

It looks like Blizzard did that on purpose to force everyone to rep grind instances.

The quickest and easiest one to get the Heroic key for would be the Coilfang ones. Running SV yields rep for killing and you get Coilfang Armaments to turn in for around 75 rep per turnin. Those thjough have a rather low drop rate. Other than that i think getting the heroic key for the Hellfire Citadel is easiest. Only had to run SH about 5 times to hit revered maybe a couple more.

Hey guys,
I would just like you to know that Friday nights around 6 p.m. server through Sunday are good for me ("a life? can you download those?"), too much crap to do during the school week. I am here if you guys need me on a run, but pretty much only if you need me. I am not very good at instances so I prefer to stay out of them, but if you are really desperate, and I mean REALLY desperate you can always knock on my door.
