Minecraft isn't just a chip off the ol' block. It's an addictive and deceptively complicated construction sandbox game. Play in survival mode (multiplayer, too!) while building fortifications to protect against zombie hordes--and other baddies that appear during the night--or try your hand at massive projects in creative mode. We run a local Minecraft server instance for guild members and others on an invite-only basis. See the sticky posts in this forum for details!

I'll be taking my Minecraft server offline for a while during which time I'll be performing some maintenance on my server. The downtime is expected to be intermittent and probably last through much of this weekend (mostly Saturday). There will be a period of about 2-3 hours during which time the Minecraft server will be unavailable while I perform extensive backups, and backup validation, while removing ZFS.
Sorry about that.

I meant to update this last night but had a few other things to do in the meanwhile.
The Minecraft server is back up, and it's running on an mdadm + ext4 setup now. It's also quite a bit faster as a result.
I may look into a multiverse setup similar to what we were running before such that it's possible to access some of the old Minecraft worlds we had, but I need to examine the memory profile of the server for the time being to determine if there's going to be enough to increase Minecraft's usage.
Enjoy!
