Asus Laptops/Netbooks suck?

According to this guy, Asus does some pretty funky things with their laptops (and presumably netbooks). It almost borders on insane.

That's fascinating and completely bizarre. Meanwhile, though, my Asus gaming notebook has been the most powerfu, enduring and reliable laptop I've had. So I know nothing, Jon Snow.

Could be the type, too. There's probably little need to worry much about power savings on a gaming laptop. Although, it's been a while since I read through this post, so I can't exactly remember which variety he was talking about.

Still, controlling the CPU power saving state from a pointer driver seems a bit crazy. Normally, the OS should handle that (and does).
