I find it interesting (though not surprising) that many of them were World of Warcraft players. Given the wide appeal WoW had, the fact that celebrities were known to have played it not only seems likely but statistically probable. They're affluent individuals who probably have some interest in technology and are motivated to experience various bits of culture popular to younger media consumers in effort better understand those who will be watching their films for years to come.
On the other hand, if you toss aside the surprising tone in which the article itself is written, celebrities are people too (shocker). They might, you know, actually enjoy the same stuff everyone else does. The only difference is that (nearly) everyone knows who they are.
