Interesting that Valve is releasing a new OS based on Linux. What's more interesting is that it'll be "license-free" for manufacturers, so it's plausible that the Steam console won't necessarily be made by Valve. It'll essentially be like Android where dozens of manufacturers are competing in the hardware space.

Very curious. I wasn't expecting it to happen quite like this, but this is certainly fantastic news. It might be even better news for the consumer.
