With Cataclysm alive and running, I figured I'd start posting some information to help with the new 5 man instances that are currently available. I will have a separate post for raids since I like to keep that info apart from the general 5 man instance listing. As always, this is a work in progress and I will be adding to it as time permits.

For instance access, you need to have a certain item level as well as have discovered the dungeons instance door. Remember to keep the following numbers in mind when you are questing and gearing up.

Required average item level:

• 80-81: 226
• 82-85: 272
• heroic: 327

If you aren't sure where to find this info, bring up your character menu and you can find your average item level under the general stats listing.
