The author muses about some of the things that he feels may be contributing to a lax in our cognitive abilities. Whether you agree or not, he raises some fair points.

Ironically, I've fallen into similar traps. "Isn't that an awesome idea, I really ought to find a way to send it to myself..." Instead of, you know, writing it down on paper.
I gave that lich a phylactery shard. Liches love phylactery shards.
