Scientists Successfully Levitate Mice

It's interesting, because the last successful experiment dealt with frogs:

Now, if only they can create a "mouse cannon."

I saw some kind of side note when I saw that article yesterday about it having adverse effects on mental abilities. I'm too lazy to read the article though.

Oh, and will a gerbil cannon work?
"All me got to be able to do is spell 'kill.' K-Y-Y-Y-L...."

Cause of accident: Lack of adhesive ducks.

Err, the article doesn't say anything about adverse side effects--leastwise not with the magnetic fields. It says that there are no noticeable side effects and never have been:

Repeated levitation tests showed the mice, even when not sedated, could quickly acclimate to levitation inside the cage. After three or four hours, the mice acted normally, including eating and drinking. The strong magnetic fields did not seem to have any negative impacts on the mice in the short term, and past studies have shown that rats did not suffer from adverse effects after 10 weeks of strong, non-levitating magnetic fields.

Even under simulated microgravity, they seem to suggest to me that the mice behaved normally once acclimated. Sounds just like us in space--once we're up there, it takes some getting used to but there aren't any noticeable changes to our cognitive abilities.
