It's an interesting deal. The main package has been used for 3D work in movies like Tremors 3 and various Harry Potter flicks. Here's the trick: You can get the basic license for $10 or the professional license for $40 (instead of the $1k that it sells for normally). The catch is that they have to meet a set sales goal before you'll get your copy. If they don't meet the goal, your $10 or $40 is refunded and you won't get a copy.

After further research, it appears that Messiah Studio (which is what this deal is for) doesn't offer modeling tools, so you'd need to use a 3rd party modeller to be able to use it. Still, it's a pretty big steal considering it's been used to generate the CGs for a lot of things--commercials, movies, etc.
