J2SE (and the JDK) updates that have been pushed through apparently break a few applications, of which Eclipse (which I use) is one.

Actually, I guess it's more the fault of developers being stupid and assuming the JVM was always going to report "Sun Microsystems, Inc." Sort of smart for compatibility given the other JVMs available that suck (here's lookin' at you, Blackdown) but also pretty stupid for whenever something of this nature would happen.
