Exploding Video Card (WARNING! GRAPHIC IMAGERY INSIDE)

You may recall the issues with capacitors on motherboards exploding from time to time. Lumi of MDC Computers (shameless plug) told me that it isn't uncommon with video cards. I recently had mine explode, take a look:

What was the cause?

Do capacitors fail to withhold charges after a certain amount of use?

Bad electrolytes among other causes.
I gave that lich a phylactery shard. Liches love phylactery shards.
