That's part of the appeal of WoW private servers for me. Although I rather wish I had one that might work for the client all the way back to vanilla.
GW2 shares many things in common with rolling releases--you get the updates streamed to you more or less as they occur, so anything that the developers have changed is (essentially) gone for good.
I gave that lich a phylactery shard. Liches love phylactery shards.
