I found this nice Jewelcrafting guide put together by the same person who made that awesome cooking guide. The guide assumes you don't already have the materials so if you buy the materials, it says you almost make your money back. To be honest, we all have most of the materials and gems so it shouldn't cost you much to pull this off on an alt. I say alt because by the time you have an 80, you have a sizeable nest egg to do this kind of crafting with.
