In FF14, you can actually have multiple classes with one character. Well, some classes are required to be at a certain level for you to unlock the more advanced classes that come with even more abilities. Below is a list of what classes are required to get those more advanced classes unlocked!
Now, something useful that will come in handy later on. Each class needed to unlock the jobs has cross class abilities which you can use. For instance, a Paladin gets healing spells from the Conjuror class. There are also complimentary classes on top of these which I've listed to the right of the 2 classes needed for a job due to some research I've done online. Make sure to take advantage of those cross class abilities since it can add more to your play style. If you missed the dialogue in game, open your traits menu and you will see where you can select cross class abilities. Once you've selected them, drag the ability to any of your hot bars.
