Let's use the version of Lancelot in the movie titled Excalibur as a nice visual example. Notice, how at the beginning of the movie, he is the epitome of the knight in shining armor character. Later on, there's nothing shiny about him after the betrayal of his king's trust and in the end, he dies without such armor while fighting for his king in an attempt of redemption. Very interesting signature line indeed.
