Today I Learned....

Today I learned how a bad cell in a car battery can cause you power grief with a vehicle. I spent most of the afternoon troubleshooting a battery issue which was very apparent and in the end, after a battery test, the dealership told me it was a bad cell. Now I know the behavior of a bad cell in a battery. It will charge but lose it due to the messed up cell. The price to replace my battery wasn't too shabby since it could've been worse.

Interesting. I guess it makes sense since I'd imagine that would affect the electrical connectivity inside the battery itself.

I had a similar problem late last year with a battery that wouldn't hold a charge, but I suspect it was due to a shoddy alarm system that was draining it almost completely. Now I have to wonder if it was a mix of a defective battery and the alarm...

I remember when I learned how to replace a car battery. I'm still paying the legal fees.

...Just kidding. 8D
