Additional but hopefully obvious guidelines for those just getting started:
- The server is open to goons only; exceptions will be made on an individual basis, and you won't be able to join without explicit permission. This is a private server for 'goon use only.
- Intentional, malicious destructive behavior (specifically: destroying others' creations) isn't tolerated. Accidents and creepers happen, though, so if you break something or blow it up due to either overzealous pickaxing, TNT use, or game mechanics (that's a nice everything you have), simply offer to help fix it.
- When you enter the game, you should spawn at the edge of a sandbank immediately next to most of our fortifications. Most of this area is well lit but be mindful of creepers--leaves count as opaque in the SMP version of Minecraft, so they will sometimes spawn on top of trees. There will be a tunnel immediately to your right along with a sugarcane farm and sparse tree farm. If you follow the tunnel, you'll make it to a starting area that is equipped with various diamond implements. Feel free to take a few to get started but leave some for others.
- Stake out an unused plot of land for your fort. You may use our existing established forts as a safe haven but do not destroy or add to existing construction without permission.
- Don't grab items from chests unless there is a sign directly above it indicating that it is OK.
- If you cut down trees, be polite and plant replacements. Chop down the whole tree--it's frustrating to see a few blocks of wood floating without support and makes clearing the forest for new growth much more time consuming. Remember, leaf blocks that decay naturally are more likely to drop saplings. If you don't know how to replant trees, be sure to let someone know where you were working so we can replace the trees for you. Obviously, this only applies to existing tree farms in the immediate vicinity of the spawn point and this rule exists specifically for the fairness of others who may also be starting out.

Be aware that if we don't recognize your username, you will probably be banned until we can figure out who you are. Don't be offended--this is just a precaution to protect everyone's stuff. If you think this might occur, post here along with your username; we try to do our best to recognize fellow guildmates, so this is unlikely to be an issue. If you're not a part of the guild and are joining the server without permission, you will be banned. Non-guild players who have not previously received permission to join are unlikely to be reinstated until we are confident you won't disrupt the activities on our server. In some cases, we might even be complete assholes about it--we like it when people we don't know ask first. It's just the polite thing to do.
The players listed above have admin rights on the server. Do not test their patience.
Backups are made approximately nightly. If something happens to the server (world file corrupted, some jackass griefing), I will revert back to the most recently available save file.
