Potion System Explained

Minecraft isn't just a chip off the ol' block. It's an addictive and deceptively complicated construction sandbox game. Currently in beta, paid members can play in the game's survival mode (in multiplayer, too!) while building fortifications to protect against zombie hordes--and other baddies that appear during the night.

Edit: The current implementation of the potion system is in Minecraft 1.9 prerelease 3, and not 1.8.1. You'll need to download the 1.9 prerelease to use these features (.jar linked from URL). Installation is accomplished by replacing your existing minecraft.jar under your .minecraft/bin folder (%APPDATA/roaming windows or $HOME/.minecraft everything else but Mac).
